General Health Guarantee

Sierra Valley Labs offers a seven-day general health guarantee. Your new puppy will have been seen by a veterinarian, have a health checkup with a 100% clean bill of health, received appropriate shots, and have been wormed and prior to your receiving the puppy. We require you take your puppy to a veterinarian of your choice (Owner’s expense) within 72 hours of your puppy’s arrival. If during this examination your puppy is found to have a chronic or serious health problem, he/she is to be returned to us immediately for either a refund of the purchase price of the puppy or a replacement puppy from the next available litter (Breeder’s choice). It is the Owner’s responsibility to use reasonable judgment with their new puppy. Puppies should not be brought to a public place (i.e. pet store or park) until they have completed their full cycle of vaccinations due to risk of contagious illness. The Breeder reserves the right to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of our choice prior to replacement or refund.

Genetic Health Guarantee

OUR UNMATCHED LIFETIME GENETIC DISEASE GUARANTEE:
We understand the importance of preventing known genetic diseases in the Labrador Retriever breed and these diseases can be 100% prevented through responsible breeding practices. We make every effort to know the status of all our dogs, prior to breeding. We also try to know the EIC & CNM status at a minimum of any outside studs used.
Because of our efforts and testing of our dogs, we guarantee that all Sierra Valley Labs puppies will be genetically unaffected of Exercise induced collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), Progressive retinal atrophy-progressive rod-cone degeneration (PRA-pcrd), Cystinuria, and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). We also guarantee they will be unaffected by the dilute gene (D Locus).

Our dogs are guaranteed up to the age of 24 months against genetic conditions. If one of our dogs is determined by at least two veterinarians to have an inherited illness, we will offer a refund of the purchase price of the puppy or a replacement puppy from the next available litter (Breeder’s choice).

Prior to 24 months of age, if one of our dogs is determined by OFA to have a hip score of moderately or severely dysplastic the Owner must submit a copy of both x-ray and report to the Breeder.

Owner should provide an environment that is conducive to the avoidance of environmental causes of Hip Dysphasia such as:

  1. Not allowing your puppy to regularly go up and down stairs until they are one year of age.
  2. Feeding your puppy high quality large breed puppy food until the age of 12 month
  3. Keep your puppy’s weight within normal limits.
  4. Avoid strenuous exercise such as jogging long distances, agility training, or prolonged activities where

your puppy has to jump to catch a frisbee or ball until he/she is one year of age.

When the following additional requirements are met, this guarantee with be honored by Sierra Valley Labs

  2. The dog must NOT have been spayed or neutered prior to 12 months of age.

To Process a Claim
