Every year Sierra Valley Labs helps California Department of Fish and Wildlife complete their Youth, Women, Disabled and Family pheasant hunts by volunteering our dogs to guide for new hunters without dogs.  It's great for us, the dogs get more practice and the hunters seem to really appreciate us.

We hunt Valley Quail and doves in the fields and lakes around our home.  We can be in the field with our dogs within 10 minutes of Sierra Valley Labs.  We hunt Valley Quail and Mountain Quail in the Sierra National Forest surrounding our home.

Duck Hunting

Our dogs also get tons of time in the Central California, Northern California and Southern California wetlands and USFS refuges pursuing ducks and geese during the hunting season.  This is their true love.  We are 45 minutes from the Grasslands region of Central California.  Los Banos and Merced refuges are very close.  We also hunt Mendota WLA very often which is about 55 minutes away.
